The University Co-operative Bookshop Limited (also known as The Co-op) went into administration at the end of 2019, and Booktopia has been successful in our bid to acquire the business. While this means that The Co-op stores on campus will close, you will still be able to find the widest possible range of textbooks online at Booktopia, at prices that are on average 10% lower than The Co-op. Booktopia has over 250 staff members who are dedicated to sourcing, stocking and shipping your books to wherever you are in Australia.
Textbook search information and data will work on the Booktopia website as it did on The Co-op. You can still easily find the books you need for your course here.
The existing Co-op stores across Australian campuses will remain open for a limited period after the commencement of semester 1 and will be conducting a clearance sale of new text books and second hand books that are in stock. The Co-op stores will continue to provide some university branded merchandise and other equipment that students require for their courses. Please visit your local campus store to take advantage of these discounted items.
Members of the Co-op retain their membership following the sale however Booktopia will of course not be providing membership benefits.
You can still shop for a limited time in Co-op stores across Australian campuses and Curious Planet stores as the Administrators are holding a Closing Down Sale.
All of the books offered by Booktopia are already at a discount to the recommended price. In most cases books will be cheaper than previously available to you from the Co-op.
Booktopia is an online-only retailer and as such we have no walk-in stores. The existing Co-op stores across Australian campuses will be closing shortly after the start of term.

All Booktopia orders are delivered by Australia Post to addresses within Australia and New Zealand with a flat shipping charge of $7.95 for as many books as you want to order. It is not possible to collect an order from our Distribution Centre.

Co-op gift cards are the responsibility of the Administrators of The Co-op and are not part of the sale of the business. Unfortunately this means Booktopia is not able to accept a Co-op gift card.

Booktopia can only accept returns for items purchased from Booktopia and that meet Booktopia’s Returns Policy. Items purchased from the Co-op are not able to be returned to or refunded by Booktopia.
