Once upon a time, the great Faeran High King Angavar and his twin brother - and nemesis - Morragan the Raven Prince were trapped in mortal Erith when the Gate to the Faeran Fair Realm closed...
Now, many centuries later, the fugitive who calls herself Tahquil at last knows the truth: She is being hunted by the Raven Prince because only she can open the Gate to the Fair Realm. For Morragan plans to use her to escape from exile after leading his Unseelie armies against his brother, the rightful King. But Tahquil's memories are still clouded by a potent spell called bitterbynde. Desparate to stop Morragan for fear he'll lay waste to Erith, she must search for the final answers to the mystery of her past in Evernight - at the fortress of the Raven Prince.
Though Tahquil has survived deadly trials of goblins, spriggans, pixies, and haunts, nothing can prepare her for Evernight.
