Despite considerable media and popular interest in environmentalism, environmentalist movements and Green parties, there has been relatively little systematic academic assessment of the factors involved in the formation, development and electoral performance of Green parties in Europe. The Green Challenge is an up to date comparative analysis of the rise, development and varying electoral success of Green Parties in western, southern and central Europe.
