The Glory Road

Four short swords instead of the expected two or three.

Crown Prince Aaron deDraconis is stunned to discover that a son will bear a blue sword because the last was associated with a traitor to the House.

Years later, King Aaron's four sons train to occupy their royal roles. Crown Prince Artos doubts whether he wants to assume the throne, take on its myriad responsibilities, and be betrothed. Younger brother Bortis trains to protect the House as a warrior and right hand to the crown prince, but struggles with self-doubt and his ability to wield his sword at will. Carimus, apprenticing to take on the role of leader of the Sky Church, still lacks the maturity of age. And Duka, the youngest, is still exploring his relationship with his blue sword and nascent magical abilities.

When the four boys attend Duka's ascension party, events quickly go awry, resulting in the boys having to flee from the royal palace and the comforts of home. As they set out in an uncertain world filled with dangers known and unknown, one brother becomes separated from the rest, they befriend new allies, and begin to unravel the twists and turns of their respective destinies.
