reading for enjoyment

I bought this book because my grandson was feeling a failure learning to read. It made me extremely sad to see him avoid reading as I'm a bookworm and love reading. I came across the bad guys and have obtained all the episodes. My grandson has gone from strength to strength and now reads me a bedtime story about the Bad Guys. He just loves the humour and enjoys using his voice for the characters. Thanks Jann D and Sonny

Makes my 4yo son crack up!

I read this book making different voices for each character. Mr Piranha character ALWAYS makes my 4yo son crack up with the giggles. Great fun read! Just not the best before bed time as it is too funny!

I purchased this book for my 6yr old who is an advanced reader. He literally could not put this book down. And to hear him laugh as he read out loud was fantastic. I found it super entertaining as well. This book comes very highly recommended. My son has since read it 4 more times & is constantly quoting from it. He cannot wait for Episode 2. The countdown begins!

Master 7 could not put it down!!

My son picked this book up at the book fair and I am more than happy to say it was the first book that he is never wanted to put down. This is a new experience for him and made me a very proud Mum to see the disappointment that he now has to wait for the next episode. From being a struggling reader at the beginnng of the year to reading independently and loving it puts a great big smile on my face and his!

My 8 year son is a reluctant reader, but this book had him glued to the pages! He read the entire book in one sitting... Which is unheard of! He was laughing hysterically throughout! Bring on episode 2! We cannot wait!

Aaron Blabey

Aaron Blabey's life doesn't make any sense.

He is best known for his well-loved children's picture books for which he has won many awards including a Children's Book Council of Australia - Book of the Year Award, a NSW Premiers Literary Award for Children's Literature, a KOALA Award, a YABBA Award and a Children's Peace Literature Award. He's also been the National Literacy Ambassador and is a proud ambassador for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.

But dig a little deeper and his past gets quite shady.

He spent 13 years as an actor appearing in numerous plays, TV shows and films. He was regularly cast opposite proper actors like Hugh Jackman, Jacki Weaver, Guy Pearce, Bryan Brown, Joel Edgerton and Ben Mendelsohn, all of whom were too kind to ever point out that his own acting was "justâ?¦awful", as he describes it today. To his continuing bewilderment though, he did once win an ACCTA Award (AFI) for Best Actor, a fact that cannot be adequately explained.

To complicate matters, he worked for a time as a staff writer at a major global advertising agency where he "learned a great deal and wished for death every single day", before spending a couple of years attempting to teach 'Creative Thinking' at a prominent Sydney design college. Furthermore, he's exhibited his art in various galleries, spent some time as a grape picker, worked in a video store and - astonishingly - once modeled clothes in a glossy weekend supplement.

He lives these days in a beautiful town in the Blue Mountains with his preposterously short wife and their two gorgeous boys, where he creates books, listens to his beloved vinyl record collection through killer 70s speakers and celebrates loudly every fifteen minutes that one of his all-time, top-ten heroes - Nick Cave - recently chose to record one of his books.
