Madleen Kane's Memoir, Rough Diamond, is about her journey from a young beginning in Malmo, Sweden to stardom at an early age. She describes growing up in Malmo, and how she became a model at 14 years old. At age 15, she won the "Dream Girl" Pageant and her life took a dramatic new turn.

Madleen describes in well-written detail her adventures from an international modeling career to when she was discovered by a music producer in Paris, France. Her physical beauty and incredible voice opened doors for performances around the world, and she became known internationally as the Disco Queen, recording five highly successful albums.

This book is about her experiences with her blazing, fast rise to stardom, her first marriage at 19 years old to Jean Claude, her producer and abuser, and her second marriage's unhappiness. She abuses alcohol among other things, and almost dies a couple of times. She relates how she became sober, and all stages in between.

This is a candid, outspoken memoir of incredible, heart-wrenching events, told by a courageous woman. It will take you from Sweden to New York City, Japan, London, Paris, and Beverly Hills, California, where she still resides.

"She's one of the most exciting women in the world," Carlo Ponti says of Madleen Kane.

"She has the same magic photogenic quality--same cool look--same transparent skin as Grace Kelly." --Bill Carlton of the New York Daily News says of Madleen Kane.

"She cuts loose with unexpected earthiness and fire. This is a bite 'em, scratch 'em, sock 'em singer, invitingly feminine." --Oscar winning producer/composer Giorgio Moroder of Donna Summer and Blondie fame produced Madleen Kane's fourth album "Don't Wanna Lose You."
