My mother, an alcoholic, left when I was 6 months old, was married 5 times. My stepmother, an alcoholic, married 5 times, left when I was young. My role models were not helpful, and I had to create my own road to success. Kicked out of the house, I slept on friend's couches.... ultimately I got it together and graduated college and law school, at night, while working full time.
