New Zealand's courtrooms have seen few figures as formidable – or as enduring – as Stuart Grieve KC. Over five decades of criminal law and trial advocacy, Stuart has had a front-row seat for the cases that have gripped the nation: the notorious Peter Plumley-Walker murder trials, the Springbok Tour clowns case, the Gisborne Cervical Cancer Inquiry and the Erebus Royal Commission among them. He has prosecuted perpetrators of sexual assault and domestic violence, and acted as a special advocate for Ahmed Zaoui and Kim Dotcom.

Stuart Grieve KC is one of New Zealand's pre-eminent King's Counsel, specialising in criminal law and trial advocacy. As a long-time leader of the criminal bar, Stuart handled some of the most significant criminal cases over a lengthy period.

Stuart has also conducted a number of notable civil cases; he has acted for both plaintiffs and defendants and been retained by the Crown to represent Crown officers facing claims alleging misconduct.

He lives in Auckland with his wife, fellow KC, Antonia Fisher.
