About the Author

Professor David K. Eiteman is Professor Emeritus of Finance at the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. He has also held teaching or research appointments at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Showa Academy of Music (Japan), the National University of Singapore, Dalian University (China), the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (Finland), University of Hawaii at Manoa, University of Bradford (U.K.), Cranfield School of Management (U.K.), and IDEA (Argentina). He is a former president of the International Trade and Finance Association, Society for Economics and Management in China, and Western Finance Association. Professor Eiteman received a B.B.A. (Business Administration) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (1952), M.A. (Economics) from the University of California, Berkeley (1956), and a Ph.D. (Finance) from Northwestern University (1959). He has authored or co-authored four books and twenty-nine other publications. His articles have appeared in The Journal of Finance, The International Trade Journal, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of World Business, Management International, Business Horizons, MSU Business Topics, Public Utilities Fortnightly, and others.

Associate Professor Subhrendu Rath teaches at Curtin University. He holds a PhD in Finance from Washington State University. He is the editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Economics and is on the Editorial Board of both the Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance and Business Ventures Business and the Australasian Journal of Behavioural Sciences. His research interests include Market Microstructure, Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance and International Finance. He teaches in the areas of Corporate Finance, International Finance and Financial Markets. He is a Member of the Curtin Investment Advisory Group, is on the Board of the Curtin Business School and is on the Curriculum Committee of the Financial Planning Association.

Senior lecturer Dr Kevin Daly teaches International Finance, investment management and derivatives at the University of Western Sydney. Kevin has previously taught at the University of Brighton, and the University of Adelaide. The major emphasis in his teaching is in applied finance, where he teaches international finance, risk management and portfolio management. In 1997 he completed his PhD titled ‘Financial Volatility and Real Economic Activity’ at the University of Western Sydney. This thesis was published as a book in 1999. Kevin has published widely in international economics and finance journals, in the areas of international finance, emerging stock markets and risk management.
