Moving to a space station at the edge of the galaxy was always going to be the death of Hanna's social life. Nobody said it might actually get her killed. The exhilarating sequel to the NYT bestselling Illuminae

The saga that began with breakout bestseller Illuminae continues aboard Jump Station Heimdall, where two new characters will confront the next wave of BeiTech's assault. Hanna is the station commander's pampered daughter, Nik the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. But while the pair are struggling with the realities of life aboard the galaxy's most boring space station, little do they know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right toward Heimdall, carrying news of the Kerenza invasion.

When an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are thrown together to defend their home. But alien predators are picking off the station crew one by one, and a malfunction in the station's wormhole means the space-time continuum might be ripped in two before dinner. Soon, Hanna and Nik aren't just fighting for their own survival; the fate of everyone on the Hypatia - and possibly in the known universe - is in their hands.

But relax. They've totally got this. They hope.

Told through a compelling dossier of emails, IMs, classified files, transcripts and schematics, Gemina raises the stakes of the Illuminae Files, hurling readers into an enthralling new story that will leave them breathless.

          Comments about Gemina:

Oh, Gemina. I waited for you a whole year and you have surpassed my expectation.

To recap: Illuminae = awesome. You had your YA lovers. You had your crazy AI. You had your zombies. You had closed-space confinement. I mean, if that doesn't yell out "ROLLERCOASTER RIDE," I don't know what does.

Gemina is the second instalment of this crazy. And it is CRAY CRAY! It has a different pair of YA lovers. It has more than a dozen psychotic assassins. It has disgusting alien-like wormy animals. This made me so tense, I felt like I was immersed in the world of The Walking Dead or Stranger Things (whichever...)!

I loved Nik. I also loved Ella. Hanna was a little meh but she can kick butt so she rules. And I called on Jackson (bloody knew it!). Amie and Jay know exactly how to write YA characters and this pastiche format that they have given the series really really makes me give out HEART EYES CAPSLOCK lol.

I hope that the wait for the next book won't be too long as I am so pumped for it!

Feeling so so proud of my fellow Aussies right now. This is an EPIC achievement, not to mention the brilliant writing.

          Amie Kaufman

Amie Kaufman is the New York Times and internationally bestselling co-author of the award-winning Starbound trilogy (These Broken Stars, This Shattered World) and The Illuminae Files trilogy (Illuminae). Her multi-award winning work has been published in 30 countries, and described as “a game-changer” (Shelf Awareness), “stylistically mesmerising” (Publishers Weekly) and “out-of-this-world awesome” (Kirkus).

Amie had the good fortune to be raised just one block from her local library, and took full advantage of that fact growing up. She and her sister spent their childhood summers re-creating their favourite books by camping in the back yard, mapping their neighbourhood, climbing trees, stepping through magical doors and sailing the local seas. Raised in Australia and Ireland, she has kissed the Blarney stone six times, thoroughly cementing her gift of the gab.

As she grew older (but not up), she continued her education, and graduated with honors degrees in history, literature and law, and a master’s degree in conflict resolution. After working as a mediator for seven years, these days she’s a full time writer, working from her home in Melbourne when she’s not on the road in the US, Europe and Asia. A few of her top travel moments include camping in the Sahara overnight, climbing a mountain in Vietnam, standing on the Great Wall of China and cycling the Loire Valley, but she has a huge list left to cover.

Amie lives in Melbourne, Australia with her husband and their rescue dog, Jack. She’s a huge fan of chocolate and naps, has an enormous music collection, and an entire room of her house is devoted to her library. She still sails, and though she climbs fewer trees, she remains partial to investigating the occasional magical door.

          Jay Kristoff

Jay Kristoff grew up in the most isolated capital city on earth and fled at his earliest convenience. He worked "creative advertising" for eleven years and has won several awards that nobody outside the advertising industry gives a tinker's cuss about.

He is 6'7, has approximately 13870 days to live, and can demand whiskey in almost a dozen European languages. He lives in Melbourne with his wife and the world's laziest Jack Russell.
