Bruno's new owner uses Bruno as a prize fighter in deadly combat matches until Bruno escapes. Bruno flees across the fierce frontier with two former captive companions. They face many dangers and adventures as they try to reach Canada where the English and American laws can't touch them. Along Bruno's journey he finds and loses love repeatedly.
