Editorial Review - David Gunner 'Literary Titan' (five out of five)
"Ever taken stock of your life and wondered what was missing? Checked every item on the list of happiness markers but still be unfulfilled and unhappy? Just like the book says, you may find that the thing missing could be you. At first glance, that statement makes absolutely no sense but think about it, if you are living life on the periphery, if you are ignoring your quintessence. Then, of course, you will be unhappy. Everyone needs to look deep inside themselves and understand who they truly are. What really is important to you? Are you able to find stillness, courage, joy, and creativity within you? Are you able to unravel that far hidden part of yourself?
To begin with, Linda went on a voyage for months after which she was lost and drowning in emotional turmoil. She then somehow picked up the pieces and found herself again. This guideline on how to find oneself is not a tutorial. It is the author holding your hand through every tumultuous bit of your journey. She understands the arduous task that is before you, having lived it herself. Therefore she knows just what you need to get through it. This is perhaps one of the most invaluable qualities of this book, the author, and her own journey. The book is empowering and strong. It is powerful and aggressively true.
For such a passionate subject matter, the author has reined it in just enough to get the message across. Passion could not be used as a crutch to pass off weak sentence structure and poor language. The book is very simply written. It is not fancy. The author has skillfully crafted sentences. The tone is just endearing enough. She reveals a useful amount of information about her encounters without being indiscreet. The reader will enjoy the smooth flow of prose. One will appreciate the silky texture of language and grammar used in this book.
This will probably not matter to some but the illustrations lend the book a whimsical quality that will be quite welcome to the rest. It is nothing too special but it is significant enough to lighten the mood when need be. Like that frilly cushion on the therapist's settee. The author could have revealed more of herself. Been a little more vulnerable. Instead, she gives very brief peeks into her own life. On the other hand, this book feels a lot like a healing session. IT is especially wonderful for those who cannot go to her.
While most people are advised to leave the past in the past, this book goes a different way. It advises you to look into that past and make peace with it. Something that will help you leave the past in the past. Yet another gem from Decrypto.
The author does not claim to know all the answers, but she does hope that this book will be of help to you. Regardless of where you are in life, you could always use a deeper insight into your direction. This book will not give you the answers. It will help you find them yourself. Keep your mind open. Spread your arms. Receive healing.
Five stars out of five for Linda K Ford."
