The bar for 2023’s biographies was set high when Prince Harry released his highly anticipated memoir! But the hits didn’t stop coming and we also were wowed and moved by the stories behind other famous faces.

Non-Fiction:

2023 has been a cracker year for non-fiction; Leigh Sales, Stan Grant Holly Ringland, Julia Baird, Clementine Ford, Tyson Yunkaporta are just some of the incredible authors feeding our brains with challenging and cutting edge ideas, First Nations knowledge, feminist rallying cries, history from new perspectives, healing through grace and more.

Kids & YA:

From the last in the record-breaking Treehouse series through to Christopher Paolini’ highly anticipated return to the world of Eragon in Murtagh, 2023 brought us a spectacular lineup of new children’s books!

Food & Drink:

Every year there are so many incredible cookbooks released into the world, and 2023 was no exception. Alison Roman, Tilly Pamment and Kristen Tibballs flew the flag for sweet treats, showcasing everything from simple cakes to complex chocolate creations. We celebrated the release of two hatted restaurant Ester’s eponymous cookbook.
