Being a Trainee Solicitor: How to survive and thrive is the essential self-help book if you are embarking on, or thinking about, a career as a solicitor. Before you receive your all-important practising certificate, you will face two years of training. Supervised by a senior, often working long hours and moving from department to department, it can be a daunting and sometimes demoralising time with your work under continual scrutiny. The learning curve is steep. Yet it is also a chance to for you to make your mark, start building a lifelong network of friends and peers, and showcase your skills to a potential post-qualification employer. Being A Trainee Solicitor gives you the tools to navigate pitfalls and challenges with confidence while making the most of the many opportunities such training offers. You will gain a firm understanding of the world of junior law far in advance of stepping into an office, preparing you for how professional practice works.
