Winter Sun is the third and final book in a poetry series created and completed by Dr. John McDonough, having begun with his publications of "Casting About" in 2013 and "The Open Door" in 2014. All three books contain concurrent themes, including the natural world, family, spiritual musings, philosophy, fishing and humor. As a threesome, the books stand as a lasting testimony to Dr. John's love of language and expressive persona. He has created a book trinity, a trilogy, each book a separate entity yet all of the same literary substance. He has woven his own Trinity Knot, using words and ideas to create a three-book universe of original thought.
