Anthony Robles is a three-time all-American wrestler, a NCAA champion, and a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He was also born without his right leg. Doctors could not explain to his mother, Judy, what led to the birth defect. But at the age of five, to his mother's horror, he shimmied up a fifty-foot pole unassisted. From that moment on, she knew that her son would be unstoppable. When Anthony first began wrestling in high school; he was the smallest, least experienced kid on the team and considered it a victory when he wasn't pinned. By persisting and eventually learning how to maximize his strengths, he finished his senior season as an undefeated national champion. With college coaches unwilling to risk a scholarship on a kid with one leg, he was forced to walk on at Arizona State, where he had to prove himself all over again. Despite hardships on and off the mat including temptation to quit school and get a job to help his family when the bank foreclosed on their home Anthony rediscovered his focus and determination. As a senior for the Sun Devils, he went undefeated, winning the 2011 NCAA title in the 125-pound weight class. 'I'm inspired by his courage . . .
