How can human-level artificial intelligence be achieved?
Can it even be defined?
What are the potential consequences?
Is it necessary for humanity's survival?

These and other fascinating questions are considered in this important thesis. Proposing a novel research approach called TalaMind, Dr. Jackson discusses how an AI system using a language of thought based on the unconstrained syntax of a natural language could achieve "higher-level mentalities" of human intelligence, with advanced forms of learning and reasoning, imagination, and more.
