The second book in this young adult fantasy trilogy is absolutely fantastic. From the moment I started this book, I was mesmerized by the vivid world-building imagery and intricate twists and turns of events that J.B. Tucker used! The characters Kirie, Arin, Alena, and Lucas became more developed and complex, captivating the reader, making them feel like they are a part of your family. The pacing is perfect, balancing intense action with emotional depth. The cliffhanger ending has left me eagerly awaiting the final installment. Shadow Men is a must-read for any young adult fantasy lover that I cannot recommend highly enough!

An excellent follow up to Bright Ones! If you like morally grey MMC, socially awkward MFC, light vs darkness, old-world religious undertones, coming of age, secret societies, unhinged antagonists, this is the book for you!!

Shadowmen is the second book of series by JB Tucker (the first is The Bright Ones). In this second book, the main character Kirie is honing her powers, preparing for a great battle with the Shadowmen whose sole purpose it's to rid the world of all of the Brights Ones. The battle happens sooner than Kirie was anticipating and makes her question everything she believes. Very well written and the perfect book for someone like me that likes a little romance and a lot of action. I highly recommend!
