The Masked Marksman

Meet Ed Race who made his trade as a vaudeville gun-juggler supreme, known on stage as "The Masked Marksman" and for handling six loaded .45s to the delight of the crowds. But when this line of work became too tedious, Race took advantage of his multi-state P.I. licenses to solve crimes across the country. This collection includes his next seven stories:

1. Overture to Doom: Ed Race believed in himself, and in his shrewd judgment of people... So in the case of the pretty girl wearing the caracul coat, he backed his guess with a courtroom tangle and a six-gun showdown!
2. Death Between the Acts: Ed Race was willing to lend his time, money, or six-gun skill to deserving friends... and Charley Wiener needed all three-desperately!
3. Bad Actors Die Young!: Few people ever got the drop on Ed Race-and made it stick. But when that frail, hungry, lovely girl tried it, Ed was as meek as a lamb. Some folks even claim he helped her!
4. Murder on the Programme: Ed Race was willing to let certain people gamble with his money. When a frightened girl tried it and won, he decided to help her push her luck-even when he knew the final payoff would be in hot lead and spilled blood!
5. Death Steals the Act: Ed Race, sharpshooting vaudeville acrobat, gambles his life to save his boss-and discovers a high finance racket which makes his famous pistol act a prelude to bloody death.
6. Death Goes on the Road: Things happened fast in Carrolltown... A voluptuous brunette's bribe, a machine-gun murder, and a hawk-eyed cabby gave Ed Race, pistol-juggling, sharp-shooting acrobat, a timely cue for a six-gun gate crash to a swindler's million-dollar show-with death as the pay-off!
7. Death at the Matinee: A torn copy of Variety and a little old lady lead Ed Race, ace vaudevillian, along a murderer's twisted back-trail-to a thundering climax of juggled six-guns, with only death as an audience to his off-stage act.
