The King Must Die

What do you do when an obscure piece of evidence appears that threatens to undermine years of your research and the publication of your widely anticipated new history book? That is the dilemma facing history professor Tom Connelly, who has been widely acclaimed to be an expert on the assassination of America's only king, James Jesse Strang, the Mormon King of Beaver Island.
Professor Connelly has always been suspicious when it comes to King Strang's assassination, since there were often gaps in the plot that have been glossed over by past historians. Through extensive research, he was able to publish a book that assessed the strengths of each conspiracy theory and vowed that this book would be his last work on the subject. However, during his research, Professor Connelly discovered troubling new evidence and was faced with the dilemma of pursuing this new lead, which would threaten his reputation, his academic career, his tenured university position, and even his personal liberty
After much thought, Professor Connelly decided to pursue the new evidence, despite warnings from his university colleagues, friends, and spouse. Facing a perilous political journey, he set off to expose a powerful conspirator involved in King Strang's assassination by using his academic and analytical skills to see through two centuries of political cover-up and finally fill the gaps.
