The Bill

Brought to life as a standalone pilot episode, Woodentop, Geoff McQueen's hour-length series, The Bill, went on to become an international smash-hit for Thames Television as Britain's longest-running police procedural series. Set in the fictional South London district of Sun Hill, the programme spanned 26 years and made household names of many of its regulars.

With gritty, realistic story-lines and the use of handheld camerawork, audiences were thrust into the heart of the tense day-to-day work and rivalry between uniformed officers and the C.I.D.

This 17-disc set brings together every episode from the first four series, introducing long-running characters including D.S. Ted Roach, Sergeant Bob Cryer, PC's Jim Carver and June Ackland, amongst many more.
