Sweptback completes the saga of The Travellers, an epic story of adventure and romance that covers the land and the ocean frontiers and the frontiers of dreams and reality.
Aidan Randall, architect turned artist, drives the outback tracks to live his dream of creating vast landscape paintings, but is entrapped by Zelina/Gwenyth Chamberlain, a troubled musician whose mental illness threatens to destroy them both. While Blue-water voyager Gretta Finneson loses her freedom in her battle to save the pristine wildlife marine Sanctuary in Shark Bay on the West Coast of Australia when she becomes captive to ruthless Tobias Bellamo, CEO of the powerful Chance Syndicates.
The boundaries of freedom are stretched in this final episode where Gretta suffers the fate of the wild animals she seeks to protect – violence, abuse, solitary confinement – but throughout her ordeal, never loses her will to survive or surrenders to the 'training' to sign over the rights to protect helpless wild creatures.
From the perilous whirlpools of the Lombok Straits between the islands of Bali in Indonesia to fire and flood in the ancient Karri and Jarrah forests of the Australian Southwest, the ancestral lands of Zelina, Sweptback takes the reader on a journey of adventure, peril, and loss that tests and proves the strength and endurance of Aidan and Gretta.

Trackless: A journey that follows no trails by M. A. Hill
Trackless is an intense and uplifting story that …challenges important assumptions, questions and ideas in life...and critically looks at the ideas of truth, reality, mystery, illusion whilst incorporating “magic” and “myth” into the actual flow of the story.
The illustrations [and the]The cover of the novel is quite an accurate depiction of the Australian outback and instantly I can see the importance of imagery this novel provides the reader. Never underestimate the importance of imagery and symbolism.
… I would like to say a big thank you and congratulations to M. A. Hill for blessing the world with this fascinating and artistic masterpiece of a novel. I look forward to reading Windforce, the second instalment in this trilogy. Bookstr 10/04/2016
- If you're a "been there, done that" adventure traveller, this author puts your experiences into words! For those adventures you've dreamed about and not yet done, they're brought to life bringing you on the journey. This novel has introduced me to characters I know and those I want to meet. Masterfully, the author brings a population of people and everyday issues to light, leaving you room to enjoy the experience of drawing your own conclusions. Thought provoking - this novel is worth absorbing. Looking forward to part 2. Odette Glisson, January 2017
Windforce: a voyage into the blue. By M.A.Hill.
- excellent Australian adventure - Part 2 has the same intensity as its base novel, but with enough overlap to stand on its own as well as build on the previous novel. The author masterfully weaves between text and poetry, country and city, romance and suspense; bringing land and sea together; fire, wind, water, all balanced, with enough of a taste for each to leave you wanting more. As with Part 1, the author allows you room to explore characters and their life choices. The people and places are so well written I feel I know them. Looking forward to part 3. This is a gripping tale with lots of great descriptions. The wild seas and the wild landscape of West Australia are both described in detail. The ending is just not fair I want the next book! I was well and truely caught up in Gretta's story and didn't want it to end…
