Clara, devastated after her husband’s death, has no idea how to cope with it. Aithne intervenes in the forest and shines her light onto Clara. Then, Arthur’s tear summons Aithne; his love story ended too soon. Monica also meets Aithne. She is a depressed girl who exists in the modern world. Lastly, Aithne finds a boy who lives in a time before words were even invented. With her wisdom, she offers comfort and guidance.

Seemingly unconnected stories, these characters and their tales are linked with a force more powerful than time itself. Aithne’s journey communicates that people’s lives are not as meaningless as they might sometimes think.
