"To say that Emily's book Stable was a great read would be an understatement. Emily's book, Stable, changed my life. I was diagnosed with severe OCD at age ten. I was told by a doctor that I should not marry, have children, or pursue what I wanted to do at age 10, which was to become a veterinarian. He didn't mention that I shouldn't have become a pilot - left that out, because I did that too, along with being married to the love of my life for 15 years and having 2 wonderful children and raising them with her. As it goes with brain disorders, there is no secret pill or magic potion that can salvage you but about the closest thing I have found is in interacting with horses. I recently bought myself a therapy horse and was forcing myself to visit him and work with him everyday. Crackerjack was and is, a Godsend. He settles and centers me. When I felt this connection, I went looking for books that might explain it. I came across Stable on Amazon and bought it because of the title and the cover aesthetics mostly. After 3 pages, I was blown away. I had never felt a content connection to a book like this before, save the Word of God. Emily I have had the awesome opportunity to thank Emily on the phone and she is real class act. Her book Stable is on my top 5 list of all time books, number 1 on my mental health AND horse book list, and, in my opinion, needs to be read by all the women in my life, as I know parts would resonate with each one. The way Emily is able to, with great prose by the way, connect the dots and give youn so many one or two-liners of wisdom regarding how she dealt with a client, and horse, or her own situation in life is worth this book's weight in gold. Even as a man I loved this book, but as a woman, I cannot imagine how powerful it would be. 5 stars!" - Jackson Walker, DVM
"This was such a great book. She is a wonderful writer. I hope she writes another book. And I was wanting to learn more about equine therapy, so this helped."
"Nearing the end of my veterinary career & trying to figure out how to further use my equine & human experience in "retirement", for the betterment of both humans & the horses. And while author is at the beginning of her career, the info is very "fresh", & points out challenges to getting establish. Throw in her personal life & it makes a very interesting read."
"Emily's thoughtful and soulful introspection blended with her experiences and expertise in equine therapy techniques made for an interesting and inspiring read. Beautifully written, she calls on all of us to embrace our inner children and find that sense of wonder that can fuel us to live with purpose and fulfill our dreams."
