Throughout his legal and media career, Michael Kuzilny has met with people at a point where the impacts of their split-second decisions have result in either victory or vulnerability. He quickly learned how split-second decisions could lead you down a pathway straight into being tied up and unable to escape from the black-hole of corruption that sucked in so many other young people. His life in the criminal justice system put me in contact with extraordinary characters and people whose names and faces have been plastered across newspapers and television screens.
Others no one has heard of and never will, but are part of the amazing tapestry of experiences that have brought me to where I am. He watched how the snowball of corruption grows with each decision, each one building on the last to become a lifestyle of crime.
They’re ordinary people who struggle with ordinary problems and find themselves in trouble after making the wrong choice during a moment’s split-decision.
A life working inside a criminal justice system filled with flaws, just like the people inside it, Michael tells the story of people in situations where life and death are part of everyday decisions, made in an instant. Inside the Gatwick, for example, corridors of lost souls and ex-cons, a visible reminder of the place a split-second decision could take you. It’s a place no-one ever wanted to end up...... These are their stories.
