Novalis® Radiosurgery has set new standards in delivering accurate and precise treatments to tumors anywhere in the body through the use of proprietary technology including a high resolution multileaf collimator, advanced treatment planning software, innovative delivery techniques, flexible image-guidance and 6D-robotic patient positioning. Full integration of these components enables delivery of increased dose to the tumor and reduced dose to healthy tissue (dose conformality). An even distribution of radiation (dose homogeneity) is also achieved, which minimizes complications due to the intermingling of eloquent structures within the tumor. Novalis Radiosurgery features 360Ý gantry rotation, stereoscopic kV X-ray imaging, Cone Beam CT, real-time infrared tracking, 6D-robotic patient positioning and powerful treatment planning tools. Dose delivery is typically achieved through fixed conformal beams, dynamic conformal arcs, IMRT, volumetric arc and hybrid techniques. Recent clinical data substantiates the accuracy and precision for treating brain indications without the use of an invasive head frame.

After a thorough discussion of the clinical and technical basis for Novalis Radiosurgery, current clinical applications are considered in detail. These various disease sites include malignant and benign cranial disease, skull base, arteriovenous malformations, functional disorders, spine, lung, prostate and pancreas. Careful consideration is also given to future developments in radiosurgery and SBRT, which promise to further increase the quality and safety of Novalis Radiosurgery treatments.
Industry Reviews

From the reviews:

"This text is both an atlas and monograph concerning the use of radiosurgery in brain tumors, functional disorders of the CNS, and Vascular Neurosurgery. ... I recommend this book to all who are involved in neurosurgery, rad onc, and radiation physics." (Joseph J. Grenier, Amazon.com, May, 2014)
