The doctors gave Jakob only a few years to live with a very bleak prognosis of what those years would be like for Jakob and his family. Because he cannot speak and needs around the clock care, Ken was moved to come up with a way to help provide for his grandson's future. Thus, the idea for RIDE for JAKOB was born.
