About the Author

Nicole Pates, mother of two and paediatric physio, is an expert in playing with babies. From Western Kids Health, her Allied Health Clinic in Perth, Western Australia, Nicole helps parents develop fun, engaging baby play ideas that aid development and connection. You might have seen some of her posts on social media – @nicole_kidsphysio.

Nicole is a Titled APA Paediatric Physiotherapist with a Master’s in Paediatric Physiotherapy and currently serves as Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s National Paediatric Group.

A passionate advocate for children’s health and wellbeing, she contributes her expertise to both national and international advisory panels, including the Healthy Digital Child Expert Advisory Panel, the Autism Health Roadmap, and the Ehlers-Danlos Society’s Paediatrics International Consortium. Nicole is also a sought-after speaker at physiotherapy and paediatric health conferences. So, you could say she knows a bit about babies and their development.
