Industry Reviews
Having read a few books by M. R. Mathias, I wasn't expecting any less than a fantastic novel. Thankfully, this book did live up to that expectation. Action packed and fun, this fifth installment of the Vanx Malic series will keep you turning the pages! I think that, even though this is the fifth installment, the book stands quite well enough on its own (but I assure you that, after finishing this, you will probably want to read the first four, anyways), and the story does not lose its momentum even though this series is starting to get longer. -- Top 1000 Amazon Reviewer This series has given me a whole new perspective on race racism, sexuality, and just plain old roguish male behavior. Vanx is every man. And the other characters range from an elf who rides Vanx's dog, to a lesbian couple, one who is a waist tall elf, the other an 8 ft tall gargan barbarian. *You just don't find this kind of writing on the shelves anymore.* These books cross race, gender, genre stereotype and have, so far, exceeded all the expectations of this old school fantasy fan. You have never read anything like this, until you read it. - B. Birdwell
