Mark Beretta OAM is a journalist, TV host, author, national water-ski champion, and Australia’s most-watched sports presenter. But first, foremost, and most fervently he is a sports fan. He’s spent his whole life either competing in, commentating on, or just enjoying sport. Since starting as an eager young radio sports reporter in 1990, and then joining the Seven Network in 1995 – a role that’s taken him to 13 Olympic Games and just about every major sporting event in between – Mark has had the privilege of being up close to history in the making, including many special moments that this sports-mad nation will never forget. Mark Beretta OAM is the Sports Presenter on Australia’s number-one breakfast TV show, Sunrise, and has been at Channel Seven since 1995. An athlete himself, Mark is a 10-times Australian water ski champion, and was a silver medalist at the Singapore International Masters. In 2021, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for charitable services to the community, through his work with Tour de Cure.

Mark is a Board member of Tour De Cure, and has completed 13 annual rides to raise funds for cancer research and treatment. Born in Geelong, Mark now lives in Sydney with his wife, Rachel, and their two children. His previous book was The Riders, published in 2010.
