Humanity has spread across the depths of space but is connected by AfterLife - a vote made by every member of humanity on the worth of a life.

Bale, a disillusioned policeman on the planet Bleak, is brutally attacked, leading writer Raisa on to a story spanning centuries of corruption.

On Gehenna, the last religious planet, a hyperintelligent boy, Alef, meets psychopath Pellon Hoq, and so begins a rivalry and friendship to last an epoch.

About the Author

Roger Levy is a British science fiction writer. He is the author of Reckless Sleep, Dark Heavens and Icarus, published by Gollancz. He works as a dentist when not writing fiction, and was described as the 'heir to Philip K. Dick' by Strange Horizons.

Industry Reviews

"Levy connects seemingly unrelated lives while examining the concepts of good and evil, trust and betrayal, and personal loyalty in a variety of contexts, along with the ways humans connect with one another, even without knowing many details about each other. Fans of space epics will appreciate the plans within plans and individual stories that come together and fundamentally change the society in which the characters live." - Booklist
