About the Author

Meryl Hare is the Principal of Hare + Klein formed in 1990. She is a Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia and has received a DIA citation for services to the design industry. She was inducted into the DIA Hall of Fame in 2011, and subsequently into the House and Garden Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Belle Hall of Fame in 2021. In 2020 she was awarded the IDEA Gold Medal Award and nominated as a Luminary at the 2022 INDE Awards. In 2024 she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to design.
