Set in London, Paris and Munich in the 1940s and 50s, this story is narrated by Caspar who details his investigations into sex, surrealism, hypnagogic imagery, waxworks, mass observation, Nazi art and mesmerism. Above all, he recounts his obsessive quest for a vanishing woman.
