Competitive shooting, self-defense and hunting participation are rapidly growing. Many of these shooters get involved only to find that they need to enhance their guns to get the best results but don't have access to a custom gunsmith or don't want to wait or pay the expensive rates for basic modifications.
In this book, experienced gunsmith and ballistics expert Steve Sieberts shows how to do custom work specifically to enhance firearms for competition and self-defense. Venturing beyond general repairs, Sieberts details "how" to carry out custom modifications at home and explains "why" these modifications improve performance for the most popular firearms used in competition and defense.
This book will also help you save time and money by not having to send the firearm to a custom gunsmith, who often has long wait times and charges high fees for simple enhancements. In addition, while most gunsmithing books focus on one gun or type of gun. (e.g., how to build an AR-15) this book shows how to customize a variety of handguns, rifles and shotguns for competition and self- defense.
About the Author
Steve Sieberts has decades of experience competing in various forms of handgun competition. He has more than a decade of experience building custom firearms for competition and tactical use. He spent over 11 years as the Chief Gunsmith for a classified DoD facility, performing R&D and T&E gunsmithing work on both military and civilian small arms systems, mostly building tactical handguns and precision rifles. Because of his background in gunsmithing and marksmanship, he can write T&Es from the perspective of someone who understands how firearms work and don't work.
