November 22nd, 2003. CIA Headquarters, Langley, Virginia: LEE DUNWAY the CIA's best undercover agent receives a frantic call from his ex-wife JULIE. Following her divorce form Lee twelve years earlier she had made good on her commitment to avoid him. But the kidnapping of their daughter GAIL has forced her to put aside those emotions. The ransom caller said he would kill Gail if the FBI or any other law enforcement agency were informed about her abduction. Julie reluctantly has to depend on Lee secretly acting alone to bring their daughter back alive. Lee is surreptitiously pulled into a connecting plot full of intrigue and deadly sabotage. The Director of the National Security Agency and other conspirators along with their counter parts in Communist China has formed a covert brotherhood of double agents; called The Golden Boys. The brotherhood has a plan in motion to force humanity into accepting a universal government based on socialism. The Director uses a combination of blackmail and an offer of wealth and power in his future empire to convince two U.S. Senators, both ranking members of the Black Projects oversight committee into joining his group. Under a guise to national security the Director and the two Senators hoodwink the President into ordering a secret manned mission to Mars launched from an undisclosed U.S. Moon base. Anticipated discoveries from the Moon and Mars will enable The Golden Boys to severely disrupt international financial markets, create economic chaos, social mayhem and a worldwide military alert. The brotherhood calculates such events will pave the way for them to size control of the United Nations Assembly and then a takeover of the U.S. Government. Lee is certain the consequent turmoil will expand beyond the threshold to prevent global nuclear war. He is nightmarishly tested when he has to choose between Gail's prompt liberation or take action to prevent the rebels from obtaining the discoveries from the Moon and Mars.
