Clinical Integration: Medicine features 100 clinical cases, with detailed explanations and notes, to help medical students and junior doctors link basic medical science with clinical context and build an appreciation of how pathophysiology manifests as recognisable clues.

The book shows readers the logical connections between patient history, examination findings, investigation results, management rationale and their underlying mechanisms. Readers learn to understand the "why and how" behind the diagnosis, investigation and management of common clinical problems.

The book uses a system-based approach to cover 100 clinical cases, from aortic dissection to urinary tract infections, via dementia and pneumothorax. Every case uses a consistent format to:
  • highlight the key elements of the history, examination, investigation and treatment phases of medical practice
  • provide rapid access to important facts
  • explore the links between pathophysiology and clinical clues that underpin common medical conditions
Industry Reviews

An interesting and engaging medicine guide
'It breaks down the history, examination, tests and treatment for a wide variety of conditions based around a clinical case for each condition. This makes it really engaging and a great way to learn lots of information useful for clinical practice! Highly recommend this book to medical students.' Amazon reviewer

A brilliant and novel medical book
'This book is genius. Instead of having to scour through a physiology textbook to try work out why a pt presents the way they do, this book does it in reverse (as you would experience in clinical practice!). It breaks down all the aspects of presentation, examinations, investigations and subsequent management plans of some of the most common conditions medical students are likely to come into contact with.

A must have for anyone studying a course using CBL/PBL style. But it isn't only useful for those preclinical years, and the explanations aren't limited to the specific cases in the book, because the case features identified are explained in the context of the underlying physiology, meaning the understanding can be applied broadly to other cases.

A truly brilliant and novel book for medical students I cannot recommend enough!' Amazon reviewer
