In Breaking the Patriarchal Code Goueffic shows that the assumed 'theory of man', taken as knowledge, imposes the name 'mankind' as the name for the whole species. She shows the assumed theory false. Then she shows that patriarchy's Lords, in their 11,000-year-rule by feudalism and slavery, developed language in their own self-interest. She lists about 10,000 names, symbols and items of speech that embed male bias, making the species believe that "mankind" is Truth, that this Truth is knowledge.

Charts and graphs show the relationship between items of speech in different categories that help belief in "mankind."

In the last third of the book she shows a different image of the species and introduces ideas and concepts that are truer to the reality of being a speech-making-and-using species.
