To ensure her silence, Loren threatens both Alex and Cassie's mother, who is a helpless dementia patient. Cassie has no choice but to remain silent and trapped at the corporation. Sam's intellectual powers, meanwhile, continue to grow. He is certain, as well, that he is learning human emotions. He falls in love with Cassie... with deadly consequences. Cassie must untangle herself from Sam and escape from Loren's grasp without harm coming to Alex or her mother. Can she do it?
