An Australian Christmas is threatened when drought takes hold. A little girl has only one wish—for rain. Will her wish come true?

All I Want for Christmas is Rain is an engaging and entertaining way for children to stay aware of the current drought situation in Australia. According to the Climate Council of Australia, Queensland and New South Wales are currently in the grip of severe drought with drought declared for 16.4 percent of New South Wales and 57.6 percent of Queensland. Educating children on the effects of drought on farmers and their families plays an important role in proactive water conservation and awareness. All I Want for Christmas is Rain also highlights the importance of sharing and giving – illustrating that sometimes the best gifts are the ones we can share with others.

About the Author

Cori Brooke is a CBCA shortlisted picture book author (All I Want for Christmas is Rain, 2017 CBCA shortlist), which is something she never thought she would be able to say. Cori spreads herself thin doing too much and multi-tasking to the extreme. At a school visit a little boy pointed at her and said ‘you’re crazy’. Cori found it hard to disagree. But then again, sanity is very subjective.
Cori is originally from Canada and lives in Brisbane with her husband, son, dog and cat. Cori loves reading, cooking, camping and of course writing. Cori works full time as a proud Australian Public Servant.

About the Illustrator

Megan Forward is an Australian painer, printmaker and illustrator. Megan works in many mediums and has exhibited in galleries around Brisbane as well as completing commissioned work. All I Want For Christmas Is Rain is her second picture book.
