Book 1 -Back Story

Years ago, Cindy had a black lab. Martha was adorable and well behaved. Cindy worked in a nursing home and would bring Martha to work as a therapy dog for the residents. One day Cindy and I went to a pet food store to get Martha some food. There, we found a stuffed dog chew toy. It was a Boar. We brought Boar home. Martha, the dog, played with her pretty tough, & caused the toy to squawk! Boar had a squeeze box in her.

Well, she was so darn cute, we would not let Martha play with her anymore. Boar became a daughter to us.

Books 2-4- Back Stories

Since then, we have acquired Junior, a Gecko from the Rain Forest Cafe, and Hardy a bear from the state fair. They each have a personality of their own. 

These three have been our kids since 2010 or so. We would tell Cindy's mom what our kids were doing and she would just laugh and chuckle. Cindy's mom, (kid's grandma) has told us early on that we should write these stories down. Well, this year, 2023, we started to do that. Cindy is the illustrator; I am the author.

We hope you enjoy the antics and love of our family as much as we do.

Whether it is a puppy, or kitten, or even a child, little souls often find their way into the arms of those they know will care for them. In this charming book series by Cindy and Gus Gee, we follow the little soul of a stuffed animal, looking for her forever home in the arms of a couple in the Boar Family Series.

The story begins, as it rightfully should, in Boar.

Overall

When this book series was brought to my attention, the only experience I've had with children's books was my favorite childhood book, Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes. After reading all five books, I found myself enjoying the world that the authors crafted.

The hand-drawn that was done for all five books was charming and the characters were all very adorable. I found the storyline of Boar, Junior, and Hardy finding and being adopted into their forever homes after either never having a home or coming from a home of neglect, in Hardy's case, very heartwarming.

The Boar Family Series is a very heartwarming, imaginative, and tender series that is a great addition to your children's bookshelf and it earns a recommendation from me. ââââ - Elijah B. (Explore Authors Magazine)

Private note for the author: I thought the story was very heartwarming and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face reading Ms. Boar's story. The drawings were also very adorable. I sincerely enjoyed reading all about this little family.
