Backward God?!

God used people, situations, and a series of (sometimes bizarre) circumstances to transform a young boy who thought of himself as stupid, ugly, and unlovable and who had no direction in life, hope of a future, or a place in this world into a man who loves himself, believes he is intelligent, has hope and direction and a place in this world and, more importantly, in God's Kingdom. Throughout his journey, Kevin has battled severe mood swings, intense rage, and feelings of abandonment and worthlessness. To find self-worth and purpose, he immersed himself in things like bodybuilding and steroids, semi-pro football, and custom motorcycle building. He also began pursuing a career in hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. However, when God called him into law enforcement, his life radically changed, and he found his worth, purpose, and peace in Jesus Christ. Kevin Burke has wanted to find and know God since he was four. In doing so, he has endured many hills and valleys, which caused him to try and work harder to attain God's approval. All of which led him on an exhausting pilgrimage. Eventually, he attained peace through Jesus Christ, who taught him to stop and smell the roses. He enjoys spending time with his family, working out, walking his dog, and sipping on a good cup of coffee. He lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
