A breathtaking Tasmanian tale of ancient forests; of art and science; of love and, above all, of friendship.
In the 1930s, in an isolated and beautiful corner of southern Tasmania, a new young wife arrives at her husband's secluded property - Arcadia. Stella, an artist, falls in love with Arcadia's wild, ancient forest. And when an unknown predator strikes, she is saved by an unusual protector...
Two generations later, Stella's granddaughter, Sally, and her best friend, Jessica, stumble over Stella's secret life in the forest and find themselves threatened in turn.
What starts as a girls' adventurous road trip becomes a hunt for the story of the past, to solve the present, and save their future...
A modern mystery born in a timeless Tasmanian forest, from Australia's favourite storyteller.
Di has cleverly woven the story around two generations of a family as we learn about Stella and then follow her granddaughter Sally and her best friend Jessica as they have an adventure as they search for answers after finding a tin contains letters and a photo in a cave they played in as children

Love Di Morrissey's books
I am still transported when I read Di Morrissey's books, Arcadia is no different. I have a copy of every book she has written simple so I can head back and read them again.
Her ability to let your mind travel into the world about which you are reading is magic. Arcadia makes me feel that I have lived and breathed the air around that area of Tassie.
I couldn't put the book down. took me 3 days to read it.
I like all Australian Authors that include history of Australia

Di Morrissey is one of the most successful authors Australia has ever produced. She trained as a journalist, working in the media around the world. Her fascination with different countries; their landscape, their cultural, political and environmental issues, forms the inspiration for her novels.
Di is a tireless activist for many causes: opposing large scale development and commercial food chains into Byron Bay NSW, fighting gas and mining intrusion into sacred lands in the Kimberly, and stopping massive and unnecessary power lines intruding into the Manning Valley NSW. Di also established The Golden Land Education Foundation in Myanmar. Di lives in the Manning Valley, NSW.
