EMBRACE THE WONDER. Book 1 in the Medoran Chronicles

With just one step, sixteen-year-old Alexandra Jennings's world changes - literally.

Dreading her first day at a new school, Alex is stunned when she walks through a doorway and finds herself stranded in Medora, a fantasy world full of impossibilities.

Desperate to return home, she learns that only a man named Professor Marselle can help her... but he's missing.

While waiting for him to reappear, Alex attends Akarnae Academy, Medora's boarding school for teenagers with extraordinary gifts. She soon starts to enjoy her bizarre new world and the friends who embrace her as one of their own, but strange things are happening at Akarnae, and Alex can't ignore her fear that something unexpected... something sinister... is looming.

An unwilling pawn in a deadly game, Alex's shoulders bear the crushing weight of an entire race's survival. Only she can save the Medorans, but what if doing so prevents her from ever returning home?

Will Alex risk her entire world - and maybe even her life - to save Medora?

About the Author

Lynette Noni grew up on a farm in outback Australia until she moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast and swapped her mud- stained boots for sand-splashed flip-flops. She has always been an avid reader and most of her childhood was spent lost in daydreams of far-off places and magical worlds. She was devastated when her Hogwarts letter didn't arrive, but she consoled herself by looking inside every wardrobe she could find, and she's still determined to find her way to Narnia one day. While waiting for that to happen, she creates her own fantasy worlds and enjoys spending time with characters she meets along the way.

Akarnae is Lynette's debut novel and it is the first book in her five part series, The Medoran Chronicles.

I absolutely adored this book. I have read so many books but I honestly would have to say that this is my absolute favourite. This book made me have to buy the other books and I have loved them as much as I loved this one. Am anxiously waiting for the next one to come out. I loved everything about this series and I honestly would recommend this book to anyone.

AWESOME! Best series since Harry Potter with a bit of Narnia mixed in

My Fav Fantasy Read

Noni, described the places so well, that I thought I was there with the characters. You learn about the characters in depth and you basically want to become their best friend. I feel that there could be a possible romance between the 3 main teenage characters. But so much happens, it the book, but it's not too overpowering.

One of the best books I've ever read.

So amazing. I could not put it down. As soon as I finished Akarnae, I wanted to purchase Raelia.

Amazing Aussie author and perfect characters and world!

Aussie author Lynette Noni wastes no time throwing protagonist Alex straight into an alternate earth putting her out of her comfort zone. She starts school in a completely new world where people have gifts she has never heard of but just as much teenage angst. At the beginning of the book I honestly felt uneasy at how quickly it all started getting going and the little snipets that were obviously clues to figure out later. However a few chapters in and any negativity flew out the window. The friendship trio created with Alex and her two male friends is a breath of fresh air! No sexual tension, just straight up fun, friendship and stirring each other up! The way Alex builds as a character is very realistic and natural. She is by no means a unattainable girl but very relateable and down to earth. I loved the tension with the villain and can't wait to get my hands on book two in the series: Raelia, which I actually ordered before I even finished this book! The third book in the Medorian Chronicles series, Draekora, is releasing on April 1st 2017. I am impaitently waiting!

Amazing debut novel from Lynette Noni! This book is everything anyone could want in a fantasy novel! Great scenery, intriguing characters and just the right amount of mix between magic, mystery and teenage drama. Can't wait for the sequel! 10/10
