This book will give tourists and travelers a description of each of the 50 destinations with a personal explanation giving an insight as to why, and how, these destinations consistently deliver high quality visitor experiences. It aims to show the visitor how good management and an understanding of the importance of hospitality underpins the success of each destination. Tourists are now very interested in knowing more about how the places they visit are organized and how they get things right. AUTHOR: Professor Terry Stevens is an international tourism consultant who has now worked in 55 countries around the world on a wide range of tourism destination projects. He worked extensively in the tourism industry and led the early development of tourism as a research and academic study in the university sector before starting his consultancy business. He is a regular speaker at global summits and has written extensively in all aspects of tourism. In 2019 he was awarded the prestigious LUXLife title of the Best Destination Development Expert in the World. He is the author of Landscape Wales a pictorial celebration of the glorious natural treasures and landscapes of Wales published by Graffeg. He is originally from Somerset but has lived in Wales for over forty years.
Industry Reviews

"This is not a typical language-driven promotional bucket-list guidebook. Stevens gives these destinations real world context. He tells us its personality, its mood and not just the reason for being but its reason for resilience, perseverance and ultimate success." --Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor/CBS News

"In Wish You Were Here, industry veteran Terry Stevens applies his decades of experience and insight into putting a zoom lens on 50 leading destinations and their leaders . . . From Aarhus to Zadar, Stevens carefully analyses what it takes to successfully build, and re-build, a destination, making it a rich travel guide with a difference." --Anita Mendiratta, Special Adviser to the General-Secretary, United Nations World Tourism Organisation
