Willy and Harry (ELT Graded Reader)

Ladybird Readers is a graded reading series for English Language Teaching (ELT) markets, designed for children learning English as a foreign or second language.

Recommended for children aged 3-11, the eight levels of Ladybird Readers follow the CEFR framework (Pre-A1 to A2+) and include language activities that help develop key skills and provide preparation for the Cambridge English tests.

The Beginner level helps children to learn and practice their first words in English. It introduces everyday phrases, such as 'hello' and 'thank you', and focuses on vocabulary that young children can use in daily life. Simple text and repetition support understanding, and speaking and listening activities develop confidence.

About the Author

Anthony Browne is the acclaimed author and illustrator of such prize-winning bestsellers as Gorilla (winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Kurt Maschler Award), Willy the Wizard, My Dad, Voices in the Park (winner of Kurt Maschler Award) and Zoo (winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal). In 2009, Anthony was appointed Children's Laureate, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the world of picture books. Anthony was also the first British winner of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, one of the highest international honours for illustration.
