Which Way?

A new book from the team of Marthe Jocelyn and Tom Slaughter, Which Way? is an invitation to explore and understand the concepts we see every day in the signs around us.

Navigating the world involves many decisions. How do we know which way to go? Will we pedal or drive? Do we need a map? Will we detour to see the scenery?

This colourful book takes the reader along the right path; introducing road signs, directions, stoplights, and common sights that are part of any journey.

About the Author

Marthe Jocelyn came to writing relatively late in life, after working at a variety of other occupations. Raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and spending summers in nearby Stratford, where her family has lived for generations, Jocelyn left Canada in tenth grade to attend boarding school in Great Britain. "That gave me a taste of something so different that I wanted to keep exploring the world," she recalled on the Red Cedar Awards Web site. She has gone on to live in many different places and sampled many different jobs, even selling cookies, before settling down in New York City and opening her own company designing children's toys and clothing.

About the Illustrator

New York City-based artist Tom Slaughter took some time out from creating museum-quality fine art to write and illustrate the children's storybook One, Two, Three: A Counting Book. Published in 2003 by Tundra Books, Slaughter's book offers children the opportunity to brush up on their counting while gaining an appreciation for modern art at the same time. His second book for children, a collaboration with wife and children's book author Marthe Jocelyn, was One Some Many, a counting book published in 2004.
