When Truth Is Gangsta

After the gruesome murder of his parents, a young boy plots to rule the streets of Detroit, but first he must contend with a corrupt mayor and a serial killer murdering drug dealers.Walker “Ruffneck” Story, Jr. was only seven when hired mercenaries conducted an early morning raid on his family’s rural Pennsylvania compound, mercilessly murdering both of his parents.

Eleven years later, Walker resurfaces in Detroit. And at age eighteen, he assembles a cutthroat crew of young guns to carve out a place in the city’s underbelly. Walker is ambitious and isn’t willing to settle for a few blocks of concrete littered-graffiti. He has his eyes on the five-corners of Detroit, all run by a huge conglomerate of drug czars. Rumor has it that the conglomerate falls under the powerful thumb of one man: the mayor of Detroit, Douglass Fairbanks.

In the backdrop of Walker’s raging war something else is loose in the city, something so diabolical and evil that residents are double-bolting doors and trembling in fear after the sun goes down. Because lurking inside the shadows of the city’s worst drug-infested territories, a crazed killer is silently stalking and killing young drug dealers wearing Air sneakers.

Walker’s past falls together like a jigsaw puzzle, revealing small clues about the murder of his parents, and they’re all pointing at Detroit’s illustrious mayor. It’s corruption with enough explosive history behind it to possibly tie the mayor, Walker, and the murderer together and putting them all on a collision course with fate.
