About the Author

Caryl is a full-time children's writer who also runs creative workshops with schools, libraries and festivals. Her books have won and been shortlisted for many regional and national awards. In 2021, Meet the Oceans was selected as one of Waterstones' Best Books for Babies and Toddlers and was voted Best EYFS Curriculum Support by Books for Topics. In addition, The Girl Who Planted Trees won the Teach Early Years Awards in 2022. Caryl loves walking in the hills, cycling and wild swimming.

About the Illustrator

Rosalind is an award-winning illustrator. Her previous books include Just Right for Two, Box and My Pet Star, which won the Sainsbury's Book Award and Stockport Children's Book of the Year. Rosalind loves creating new characters, especially if they can be based loosely/wholly on her shaggy dog, Basil. Her studio and home are in York, where she lives with her young family.
