Warriors

What makes this edition different from the original Warriors: Into the Wild publication?

This deluxe edition features several exclusive design elements and bonus content not found in standard editions. The package includes a foil case design, custom illustrated endpapers, specially designed edges, and most significantly, a never-before-seen bonus chapter written by Vicky Holmes, one of the authors behind the Erin Hunter pseudonym. This limited edition was created specifically for collectors and dedicated fans of the series.

Who is Erin Hunter and why is the author credited this way?

Erin Hunter is a collective pseudonym used by a team of writers rather than a single individual. The team has included authors such as Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, Tui Sutherland, and the editorial director Victoria Holmes (Vicky Holmes), who developed the original concept and world-building for the Warriors series. This collaborative approach has allowed the team to produce multiple series simultaneously whilst maintaining a consistent voice and vision across the extensive Warriors universe.

Is this the first book readers should start with if they are new to the Warriors universe?

Yes, this is the original first book that launched the entire Warriors phenomenon and introduces readers to the world of the four Clans. The story follows Rusty, a house cat, as he discovers and enters the world of the wild cat Clans, making it the natural entry point for understanding the complex society, traditions, and conflicts that define the series. Starting here ensures readers experience the world-building and character development as originally intended.

Beyond Warriors, what other animal fantasy series has Erin Hunter created?

The Erin Hunter team has expanded beyond cats to create several other animal-centred fantasy series, including Seekers (following bears across the wilderness), Survivors (focusing on dogs in a post-apocalyptic world), Bravelands (set in the African savanna with lions, elephants, and baboons), and Bamboo Kingdom (featuring pandas). Each series features the same hallmarks of complex animal societies, spiritual elements, and epic adventures that made Warriors successful, whilst exploring different species and ecosystems.
