This short, three volume series will make enough sense to satisfy you without the need for hard physics and mathematics. We sneak up on time, quantum, and relativity, building our knowledge slowly, recognizing where things don't seem to make sense, seeing how researchers over time have explained conundrums and seeming impossibilities by testing and discarding and rebuilding ideas, and finally validating their theories experimentally, bit by bit until at least some of quantum has now begun to make sense.
